Father’s Children were largely a funk Band that evolved from a Washington DC based doo-wop group The Dreams in the late 1960s. In 1979 they recorded as the 8-piece Father’s Children under the direction of Wayne Henderson (The Crusaders) and Augie Johnson (Side Effect). Other musicians involved were Bobby Lyle (The Genie) and Dean Gant (Keni Burke). The two key tracks from the album and presented here back to back on 7” single for the first time. The much sampled, UK rare groove “Hollywood Dreaming” and the two-step “Got To Get Away” feature here for the first time on 7” in its full length album version.
